How to make a discord chat.
Your server should look like this. [F1]
Figure 1
Setting up roles.
(See spoiler).
Adding text and voice channels + sorting out channel/voice permissions.
(a) Click on the small + icon to add a text channel [F5], and then enter the channel name and who can access it. It's extremely important you give certain people access to certain channels. E.G. a chat only for admins should be accessible only by the admin role, and not @everyone [F6]. From there, you can sort out even more permissions by clicking on the small wheel, located on the same line as the channel name [F7] and fixing up even more permissions [F8].

(b) To create a voice channel, click on the + sign next to 'voice channels', and then enter the channel name and who can access the channel (e.g. an admin only voice channel should only have the admin role ticked [F9]. From there, you can set a user limit, so only a set number of people can be in that voice channel at one time [F10]. [F11] shows how it will finally look like.

Adding bots
You might want to add some bots. There are lots of bots, such as MEE6 (multi-functional), ErisBot (music) etc.
I'll be going through MEE6 since that's the most easiest to use, and there's lots of great functions in MEE6.
Firstly, go onto the MEE6 website (mee6.xyz), and click 'Add to Discord' [F12]. Then, it will ask you for authorization, click authorize [F13]. Select the Discord server, and then click authorize again. You should now be able to add certain features, such as adding levels. You really should try out and experiment with some features. [F14] shows how my Discord server looks right now.
Creating an invite link.
Alright, so you've made all the channels, you've made all the roles, added a few bots etc. Finally, all that's needed is to invite users.
Click 'invite people' [F15], and then from there, you can either make a temporary or permanent invite [F16].

Hopefully, this guide should help you start up your own Discord server.

I've been working with SFS2X and Flash for awhile now, and I thought I'd bring you a quick tutorial on how to setup SmartFoxServer on localhost.
So, the first thing you're going to want to do is go here.
You'll probably arrive at a screen like this:
Go ahead and download the version of SmartFoxServer for your desired OS. (We'll be using Windows 10 in this tutorial.)
So once your setup executable has downloaded, go ahead and go through and setup SmartFoxServer.
Eventually you'll arrive at screen like this:
Untick the box that asks to install 2X as a service, we don't need that for a local testing.
So now, you're going to want to go to the installation folder, at default it's: C:\Program Files\SmartFoxServer_2X. Once you go into the default folder, you'll see different folders. The only one we're going to touch today, is the "SFS2X" folder.
So once you're in the folder, you SHOULD see a few files and some folders. We're going to work with JUST the sfs2x.bat file.
So now, open the file and you should get a command prompt window. (NOTE: If you saved the files to the default set directory, you'll get an error about privileges. In this case just open sfs2x-standalone.exe as an administrator.)
After SmartFoxServer2X has booted, go to 127.0.0.1:8080.
You SHOULD see the following page:
And voila', you've successfully installed, booted up, and navigated to the main page for SmartFoxServer2X.
I plan to do these tutorials in parts, so I guess you could consider this part 1.
Next time, I'll do one on connecting to the server's administrative tool and working inside that to easily manage the server and everything else in between.
Thanks, Zach.
]]>The very basics.
a) Adding a profile picture.
Click on your profile, and then click on the small icon near your profile picture.
From there, you can upload a picture from your computer or by using a link (imgur).
b) How to make a private message.
Click on the private message button located on the top right of your screen.
Add the subject, message, and to it's for, and then click send, simple!
c) Make and reply to topics.
Of course, the very basics, how to make a topic!
Click on the section where you want to make a post, and then click start new topic.
Replying to posts are just as simple, click on the post you want to reply to and scroll down until you see the box where you can type. Very simple.
d) How to earn community reputation.
Community rep is given by other people, and they'll up-vote if the quality of your content is good, or if they simply, just like your post.
You can up-vote simply by going to a post and seeing the somewhat hidden 'like this' button.
1. Status updates.
I've already made a post on that, click on the link below and it should guide you to enable status updates
2. How to fill in the 'about me' section and add your Github.
3. Reporting a player.
c) How to report a player.
See someone who's breaking the community guidelines? Report them!
Find exactly which post it is where they've broken the rules (in this case I'll use Leo as an example).
From there, you can write a message of what they've done wrong and then just click send.
Don't worry Leo, I didn't actually report you.
Most of you already know this, however people who are new to IPB may find it much more helpful to refer to this guide.
